A leading North East accountant has been recognised at the North East Accountancy Awards, further strengthening his firms reputation in the region and beyond.
Rob Ribchester, an Associate based at the Durham office of Ribchesters Chartered Accountants, won the award for “North East New Accountant of the Year 2012” at the award ceremony in May. The award was open to accountants with up to 5 years post-qualification experience and so this was the last year that Mr Ribchester could have been put forward.
Rob, who was nominated for the award by a number of clients of the firm, explained : “The competition at the awards was fierce with accountants and tax advisors from many of the major organisations in our region nominated for awards. Previous winners in my category have included accountants from Proctor and Gamble, The National Audit Office, PWC & SAGE”
Whilst the award was a personal one, Rob went on to say that “I would not have come close to nomination without the support of all of our Partners and Staff both in our Durham and Newcastle offices. The selection criteria was wide ranging. I understand that we won due to our ability to offer bespoke and innovative tax planning ideas across all the taxes, our forward thinking in developing new finance & investment strategies for businesses, our commitment to working alongside clients to achieve their goals as well as my own charity work”.
